I have recently been prescribed this antipsychotic drug to help with depression and mood swings. So far I am titrating up from 100 mg to 300 mg and have had very few problems.  Only tiredness is the side effect I am experiencing which is a good thing so I can get a decent nights sleep.  I start 300 mg on Monday and see the doctor again in April.  Quetiapine can be used for up to 800 mg, but I doubt I’ll need to go that high just see how 300 mg goes for the time being.  500 or 600 mg would probably be my target dose.

It is a drug that can cause weight gain, but it is all about risks versus benefits. It should stop suicidal thoughts and will be a good drug for my condition.
